Direct! Action!

For Direct! Action!, Ed Webb-Ingall will collaborate with local residents of the Walthamstow area in a series of screenings, discussions and workshops exploring the history of efforts made to fight for the rights of Walthamstow and its residents, from Epping forest, to the M11 link road protests, public rights and finally contemporary direct action protest movements. Working with Josh Grigg, Ed Webb-Ingall will then bring these collaborations together to produce a video inspired by the graphics of 1990s protests, raves and viral propaganda training videos. The work will shine a light on the extraordinary actions of ordinary people coming together and imagining new ways to collectivise in the face of current social and political struggles.

Supported by the Mayor’s First London Borough of Culture, Waltham Forest and Art Night
