This shall be for a bond between us
This shall be for a bond between us explores the intersections of nature, art and community space as a fertile ground for cultural encounter. Encouraged by the bucolic context of Lloyd Park, the works connect with the patterns of nature and the mutability of the materials, reflecting upon a society that values and conserves the land and its ecologies.
Drawing from the moat that surrounds the site, Andrea Zucchini revisits cultural and personal histories in a work that resonates with the protective quality of water, while Sophie Mallet’s performance fictionalises a situation in which internal waterways impersonate the impossibility of coming together.
In the spirit of William Morris, Sophie Mackfall and Fay Nicolson’s works bridge the gap between design and visual art, considering elements such as colour, form, movement and music to inspire transcendent experience.
